01 · Arrival planning
Which Changi Airport Transport Option Fits Your Journey?
For a straightforward trip within Singapore, a solo traveller may prefer the MRT, a taxi or a ride-hailing service. A family with several suitcases may value the space and advance planning of a private airport transfer.
A journey to Johor Bahru needs additional planning because paid passenger transport between Singapore and Malaysia depends on the vehicle category and operating arrangement.
Before choosing a service, check your arrival terminal and prepare your flight number, passenger count, luggage quantity and exact drop-off address.
02 · Pick-up zones
Where Are the Arrival Pick-up Points at Changi Airport?
Changi Airport has designated pick-up points at every terminal. Terminal 4 separates private pick-up from ride-hailing pick-up, so check the service you booked before heading to a door.
| Terminal | Arrival pick-up point | What to follow |
|---|---|---|
| T1 | Basement 1, Doors 1–12 | “Arrival Pick-up” or “Ride-Hailing Pick-up” signs after baggage collection. |
| T2 | Level 1, Doors 2–7 | “Arrival Pick-up” signs after baggage collection. |
| T3 | Basement 1, Doors 1–5 | “Arrival Pick-up” signs and the escalator down to Basement 1. |
| T4 | Level 1; Doors 1–3 for private pick-up, Doors 4–8 for ride-hailing | The signs for your booked pick-up type. |
Before you meet your driver: Confirm the terminal, door and pick-up type in your booking instructions. Drivers cannot wait at an arbitrary arrival or departure kerbside.
03 · Private airport transfer
When Does a Private Changi Airport Transfer Make Sense?
A pre-arranged airport transfer lets you plan the vehicle and destination before you land. It can be useful for families, groups, business travellers, late arrivals and passengers carrying bulky luggage.
Give Valetra the correct flight number when booking a Changi Airport pick-up. This helps the operations team identify the scheduled arrival and coordinate the pick-up plan.

04 · Taxi & ride-hailing
Should You Take a Taxi or Ride-Hailing Service from Changi?
Taxis are available for journeys within Singapore. Ride-hailing services also collect passengers at designated airport points; follow both the app instructions and terminal signs.
If you are travelling with a group or bulky bags, check the vehicle category and its passenger and luggage capacity before confirming the ride.
05 · Public transport
Can You Take the MRT or Bus from Changi Airport?
The MRT and public buses suit travellers who are comfortable carrying their luggage and making onward connections within Singapore.
Changi Airport MRT station serves Terminals 2 and 3. If you arrive at Terminal 1 or 4, allow time to reach the station before starting your train journey.
Public buses serve the airport too. Check the route and operating time against your destination and arrival time.
06 · Ground Transport Concierge
Where Can You Find Changi’s 24-Hour Ground Transport Concierge?
Changi Airport’s Ground Transport Concierge operates 24 hours a day in all four terminals. It helps passengers arrange ground transport after arrival.
The counters are at T1 Basement 1 Arrival Pick-up; T2 Arrival Hall near Door 6; and the T3 and T4 Arrival Halls beside their information counters.
If you prefer to have your journey arranged before flying, you can book an eligible private transfer in advance.
07 · Terminal transfers
How Do You Move Between Changi Airport Terminals?
Terminals 1, 2 and 3 are connected by a complimentary Skytrain in the public and transit areas. Its normal operating hours are 5:00 AM to 2:00 AM. Changi also provides walking connections between these terminals.
Complimentary shuttle buses connect Terminal 4 with the other terminals. Routes and frequency vary by time of day, so check Changi Airport’s terminal transfer guidance if you need to change terminals.
Confirm your actual arrival terminal before sharing a meeting point with your driver; terminal assignments can change.
08 · Jewel Changi Airport
Can You Visit Jewel Before Meeting Your Driver?
Jewel is in Changi Airport’s public, or landside, area. It connects directly to the Terminal 1 Arrival Hall and is approximately 5–10 minutes on foot from Terminals 2 and 3 via link bridges.
Transit passengers must clear arrival immigration to enter Singapore before visiting Jewel.
If you plan to stop there, account for immigration, baggage collection, your visit and the return journey to your agreed pick-up point. Tell your transport provider about the plan before arrival.
09 · Singapore entry
When Should You Submit the SG Arrival Card?
The Immigration & Checkpoints Authority requires travellers to submit the SG Arrival Card within three days, including the day of arrival, before entering Singapore, subject to its published exemptions.
The SG Arrival Card is not a visa. Travellers who need a visa must meet the separate visa requirements.
10 · Changi to Johor Bahru
What Should You Check Before Travelling from Changi to Johor Bahru?
Johor Bahru is a selected cross-border destination, and a paid journey there is subject to rules beyond those for an airport transfer within Singapore.
Under Singapore’s Land Transport Authority cross-border point-to-point framework, licensed Singapore and Malaysia taxis may provide the regulated taxi service. Private hire cars cannot provide cross-border point-to-point journeys for hire and reward under that framework. Cross-border buses and eligible tourism or commercial transport operate under separate rules and permit arrangements.
Ask which vehicle category and operating arrangement will fulfil any proposed booking. A private car or MPV is not automatically authorised to perform a paid cross-border trip. Journey timing also depends on traffic and border conditions, so allow flexibility without relying on a promised clearance time.
