01 · The Border Flow
Two Immigration Clearances, One Cross-Border Journey
A road journey from Johor Bahru to Singapore involves Malaysia departure clearance followed by Singapore arrival clearance. Valetra operates this service using an eligible commercial vehicle, not an ordinary personal car.
Travel towards either the Causeway or the Second Link according to the confirmed route and operating conditions.
Passengers alight, take their luggage and complete Malaysia departure clearance. The commercial vehicle follows the applicable commercial or bus-lane process, subject to checkpoint and officer direction.
After Malaysian clearance, passengers reboard when directed and travel across the Causeway or Second Link.
Passengers alight again with their luggage for Singapore immigration and, where required, customs inspection at Woodlands or Tuas.
After the passengers and vehicle complete the applicable clearance processes, the group reboards as directed and continues to the confirmed Singapore drop-off point.

The Johor–Singapore Causeway connects Johor Bahru with Woodlands, while the Malaysia–Singapore Second Link connects the Iskandar Puteri and Gelang Patah side of Johor with Tuas.

What Happens at Woodlands or Tuas?
At Woodlands or Tuas, Valetra passengers alight from the commercial vehicle and take their luggage through the passenger immigration process. The vehicle follows the applicable commercial or bus-lane process, and the driver coordinates reboarding after clearance in accordance with checkpoint arrangements.
This differs from the familiar private-car process in which occupants may sometimes remain seated for immigration. A paid cross-border transport service can be subject to different vehicle, lane and passenger-clearance requirements. Travellers must follow checkpoint officers and the driver’s instructions on the day.
04 · MyICA QR Clearance
Check Whether MyICA QR Clearance Applies to Your Journey
Eligible travellers may be able to generate an individual or group QR code using the official MyICA mobile app for immigration clearance at Singapore’s land checkpoints.
Availability remains subject to current ICA requirements, traveller eligibility, passport history, the vehicle category and the lane used. Because Valetra passengers follow the applicable commercial passenger process, travellers should not assume that a private-car group QR procedure applies to the journey.
Every traveller must still carry a valid physical passport and present it whenever required by checkpoint officers.
05 · SG Arrival Card
Prepare the SG Arrival Card Before Entering Singapore
Travellers who are required to submit the SG Arrival Card should generally do so within three days before arrival, including the day of arrival, subject to current traveller rules and applicable exemptions.
Requirements can differ according to immigration status and mode of entry. Travellers should verify the current ICA requirements that apply to them before travelling through Woodlands or Tuas.

06 · Luggage & Customs
Be Ready to Move With Your Travel Documents and Belongings
For a Valetra cross-border journey, passengers alight and carry their luggage through both the Malaysia and Singapore checkpoints. This is part of the passenger-clearance flow for the commercial vehicle operation.
Keep passports, phones, wallets and essential documents in a small bag that can be reached easily. Do not bury travel documents inside large luggage.
Pack so that every traveller can identify and move their own bags. Tell Valetra the correct luggage count when booking, including oversized items, baby equipment or mobility aids, so vehicle suitability can be assessed before payment.
Customs procedures remain subject to the goods carried, vehicle category, inspection requirements and officer instructions. Travellers should check the current official customs guidance before carrying goods that may be prohibited, controlled, restricted, dutiable or declarable.
07 · Commercial Transport
“Private Transfer” Does Not Establish Transport Authority
The words “private transfer” describe how a customer books a journey. They do not by themselves prove that the operator, vehicle, licence or insurance is authorised for paid cross-border passenger transport.
Licensed Singapore and Malaysia cross-border taxis operate under the current cross-border taxi point-to-point framework. Under the enhanced scheme, approved ride-hail platforms may facilitate bookings for these licensed cross-border taxis.
Private-hire cars are not permitted to provide cross-border point-to-point hire-and-reward services under that taxi framework. Separate eligible bus, tourism and commercial arrangements may operate under separate permit structures and can follow different vehicle, lane and passenger-clearance processes.
This does not mean that every personal or private-car operator should be described as illegal. It means travellers should verify the particular operator, vehicle category, licence, permit structure and insurance instead of assuming that every car, MPV or van can legally provide the same paid cross-border service.

08 · Journey-Time Planning
Do Not Treat the Border as a Fixed-Time Journey
The physical distance between Johor Bahru and Singapore can be short, but checkpoint congestion and clearance procedures can significantly extend the total journey.
Peak commuting periods, weekends, school holidays and public holidays may bring heavier traffic and longer queues. Conditions can also change while a journey is already underway.
Plan conservatively for flights, meetings, attraction tickets, cruises and other fixed-time commitments. Valetra cannot promise a border-clearance time or total journey duration because actual conditions depend on traffic, checkpoint operations and officer instructions.
09 · Valetra Booking Flow
How a Valetra Cross-Border Booking Works
Provide the Johor pickup point and complete Singapore destination.
Enter the actual group size and baggage load so an appropriate eligible vehicle can be assessed.
The applicable online quotation is based on the journey details entered and the eligible vehicle available for that booking.
The normal online booking rule requires booking at least 12 hours before departure. A request inside 12 hours requires operational pre-approval before payment.
After successful payment, the journey is recorded and confirmed. The Booking Confirmation and final driver assignment are separate stages.
The final driver and vehicle details are provided through the Departure Slip when operational scheduling is finalised.
10 · Route-Based Pricing

For eligible Valetra journeys, the applicable fare is shown from the pickup, destination and booking details entered online rather than relying only on a generic route label.
Successful payment locks the quoted fare for the confirmed journey. Customer-requested amendments, additional stops or approved extra journey costs may create additional charges.
